Commercial Automated Double Swing Gate with Solar Automation Case Study

If you own a commercial double swing gate, chances are you've considered automating it to improve accessibility and security. However, factors like gate location and the availability of mains power may require you think outside the box.

The following job is a case study of how AGM Automation worked around similar restrictions for a custom-built commercial double swing gate client of ours, in Bullsbrook, Western Australia. The job also required the use of a Sommer 350 Twist 24v Solar Automation kit, which is manufactured in Germany.

The client had requested a second Secure Automatic Gate Entry to their property. As it was in a location without access to a 240v power supply, they needed a unique solution otherwise they would be looking at a costly investment to get power to the location.

AGM Automation met the client on-site, to assess, discuss and quote a set-up that would work around the gate location issue.

The solution we proposed was a custom-designed 24v Solar Automation gate package from our friends at Global Access systems and with the help of Carl & Matt at WA Fence Works, as well as JD from Metaworx, we completed the job to specifications.

The client was pleased with the process and the final result, installation of an automatic double swing gate powered by a solar automation kit.

The Double Swing gate installation included:

• Custom built Solar package by AGM Automation, supported by Global Access Systems technicians

• Drawings and Boardroom discussion on how to Automate 1 gate leaf whilst the other leaf is to remain a manual gate, so when required it can be opened to allow adequate driveway clearance.
